Why I love my job!

This is an actual conversation between myself and one of my students.

S: I need to know how to spell 'sex'
Me: Excuse me?
S: I need to know how to spell 'sex'
Me: Why do you need to know that?
S: I'm trying to write insects. I know how to spell in now I need to know how to spell sects.

Here's another from a few days earlier with a different child.
S: Can I tell you something?
Me: Sure.
S: Everyday I wear three pairs of underwear.
Me: (obviously unsure how to approach this) Wow! I bet your mom has lots of laundry then.
I was curious and wanted to ask if it was three at one time or if he just changed them frequently. I didn't want to encourage him, so I kept my mouth shut.

The New Mr. & Mrs.

Amber and Bill got married on Sunday. When they got engaged, it seemed like it would take forever for the day to arrive. Now it's over and they are spending two weeks in Italy. It was a wonderful wedding. I cried! I woke up and realized that for the first time ever the 5 cousins would all have different last names. That was kind of a major moment. It's a sign that we're all officially grown-ups. Wierd, I don't remember feeling this way when Anna got married. I guess it's because Amber and I are so close in age. I am so thrilled for her!!!

The New Guy

My roomie and I have been talking for a few weeks about getting a cat/cats for our birthdays (They are two weeks apart). I come home the other day to a little surprise. Her new cat! Molina is completely awesome! He is so much fun!
